June is approaching. This time last year, I took the month off because I was burning out. If you have been reading this blog over the years, you may have noticed that I struggle with overextending myself.
Over the last 6 months, I’ve taken steps to rest more, and focus on a little instead of a lot. We left our cleaning team ministry in the capable hands of the Fitzpatricks. We serve on the Homeless Ministry once a month instead of 3-4 times a month. Reach, First NLR’s Deaf Ministry, GriefShare, and the nursery have stayed the same.
And this blog.
Because of that, I have my energy back. My stress is no longer in the danger zone. I have more time with my wife.
I’m taking June off again as a sabbatical.
Why?
Preventative maintenance as a writer. Evaluate the blog.
We wrapped up the Simplified Systematic Theology series, mostly because I ran the course of my notes and didn’t have time to continue the notes.
Learning Under Jesus continues, as the posts continue to be a big hit.
Will it keep pursuing a thoughtful Christianity? What would you like to see with the blog? The Bible applied to daily life? My continuing journey? Other things?
My editor says all the things. What do you say?
The next post after this one at the end of May will be the last one until July 1.
