Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be a superhero? To be like Superman flying through the stratosphere. Or lurking on rooftops as Batman while striking fear into criminals’ hearts. Swinging through the concrete jungle as SpiderMan. What character did you imagine yourself as?

Me as Wolverine in 2006
For the longest, I was Wolverine, bub. Later, Batman. SpiderMan. Even Thor–until I broke my dad’s sledgehammer throwing it. Then I was no longer worthy.
Here’s my thought and question. What would it be like to be Jesus?
2nd Corinthians 3:17-18 says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
What would any average weekday look like if you were like Jesus? I’d be much better at giving people peace. If anyone hurt themselves at work, I could fix it. I would have an answer for everything. More importantly than that, the right answer.
What about the weekend? The Homeless Ministry wouldn’t be the same. For one, we’d never run out of food. Quite a few of those we serve have medical and mental health issues. No more.
Be healed.
I’m actually thinking too small. While Jesus was on earth, he was restoring the Kingdom of God–perfection amongst brokenness. Now it’s the church’s job until he returns.
What would it be like to go about your day like Jesus?
