I Made An Enemy, Now What?

What do you do when you make an enemy? Utterly destroy them. Be a constant thorn in their side. Love them, do good to them that hate you, bless those that curse you and pray for them. So many choices.

Not for a follower of Christ.

I made an enemy. They’re not even aware I learned of the scheme and implemented a defense to protect me. I don’t give many details because I see them often in my life.

Is retaliation the next step?

I’m told no, to turn the other cheek. Right wins in the end, either here or the judgment. The thing about doing wrong is it catches up to you, and you suffer the consequences of your actions without anyone doing anything to you.

What’s the game plan?

Love them with that agape love–showing loving-kindness through an act of will (Matthew 5:43-48). Pray for them, and I did with a pastor, and at home.

Insane huh? Why do this?

To be like God, who takes care of evil and good people. If He acted as we did, there would be no one left. Pillars of salt, ash, and bodies everywhere.

This is countercultural. It doesn’t make sense to the world, and it’s noticed. Then it becomes a testimony.
