This applies to the government is so many ways, and I’ll show you.

The Founders set up a system of Checks and Balances and on Monday it failed. The Legislative Branch makes sure the Executive doesn’t overreach, and the Judicial watches both.

The provision in NDAA to indefinitely detain American citizens was found by a Judge (doing their job) to be illegal. In this article from RT here

“On Wednesday, September 12, US District Court Judge Katherine Forrest made permanent a temporary injunction she issued in May that bars the federal government from abiding by the indefinite detention provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, or NDAA. Judge Forrest ruled that a clause that gives the government the power to arrest US citizens suspected of maintaining alliances with terrorists and hold them without due process violated the Constitution and that the White House would be stripped of that ability immediately.”

So to those Congressmen who said we had nothing to worry about when the Civil Liberties groups pointed this out during the debate, your argument is invalid. The Republican House and Democrat Senate along with Obama who campaigned against the Patriot Act and Gitmo have just shown themselves to be traitors and liars.

Every elected official takes an oath to stand by and defend the U.S Constitution including the Sixth Amendment.

“In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.”

NDAA’s Indefinite Detainment is blatantly unconstitutional and if we had a military with balls enough to stand by their oath to protect the Constitution or an actual honest legislator they’d arrest and impeach the President and get rid of the legislators. But we don’t. The “sheep dogs” are actually “lap dogs”.

Since we don’t. It’s up to the American Citizens to wake the fuck up and realize both parties are taking us to hell and actually vote intelligently and stop rolling over like whipped dogs!

This is NOT the Land of the Free any longer and hasn’t been for years. When cops kick open your door and take you away for a Facebook post without reading your rights or seeing a lawyer like Brandon Raub here , you have ceased to be free. That’s the First and Sixth Amendments violated by the way.

When a politician running for reelection claims they’re for civil rights and limited government, bring up these assaults on liberty, along with FISA, PATRIOT ACT, DOMA, etc.

Because they’re lying to you and it’s time to call them out on their bullshit.
