Some People Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Vote

Recently on Facebook I posted a picture comparing Obama supporters to sheep. In one of the comments someone said that,

‘They’re not voting for Obama this year, they’re voting for the Democrat.”

Needless to say my eyeballs popped out of my head. While I despise the Party System, you should know that much. Some people are too ignorant to vote, not stupid, they just don’t know much about a candidate. Only getting their information from the news and campaign ads, both “trustworthy” sources.

Before you vote you should know the following:

  • Who’s running? Name, background.

Ex: Newt Gingrich, Former Speaker of the House.

  • Their Voting Record, or if they have none, do they practice what they preach. Talk is cheap.

  • Do you like their methodology of governing?

Ex: Obama’s using his Executive Branch to go around Congress to pass regulations (which have the weight of law). This is known as a soft dictatorship. Or Bush’s making us the World’s cop. This is imperialism or colonialism. And if the candidate supported that.

These are what you need to know. I don’t care if these questions lead to voting for someone I disagree with, as long as they line up with your beliefs. Stay true to your principles.

If you don’t know that much, then don’t vote, because obviously you want to be ruled by your inferiors. You don’t care enough to pay attention, don’t water down the votes of those who do. Its a sad world where voting for American Idol trumps voting for the future of America.

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. Plato

And remember, any law one side makes, when the other side takes over, they’ll use it against you. So vote for liberty. Freedom is always a good thing.

  1. I saw that comment on your thread and spewed my coffee across my screen and keyboard. My best friend and I used to make a joke whenever we’d witness something really stupid, “And just think, their vote counts the same as ours…” After the millionth time of using that line though the funniness started to wear off as the reality of truth in it sank in.

I can totally respect anyone who is willing to stand and hold to their beliefs even if they stand at the polar opposite of what I think. What I have no respect for are the people you mention – the ones who treat our elections as though it is just another round of American Idol.
