A Small Victory Against Government Slavery

Poor pay sees lawyers stop legal aid work

On Monday a court in Virginia ruled that the Individual Mandate is unconstitutional. Not only that but it’s enslaving. The hypocrisy of some of these politicians who SUPPORT pro-choice, giving a woman the right to do whatever to her body, but taking away your right to not buy insurance.

Double standard anyone?
One argument for the mandate was that it will bring the price of insurance down. Let’s look at that for a minute, if I know you have no choice but to buy my product do you think I’m going to sell it cheap? No, I’ll be making money hand over fist, it’s not like I have to earn your money through serious competition.
The counter argument to that is, that’s why they are making it easier to get on Medicaid and Medicare, to compete. Yay, I’m getting screwed by my insurance company AND paying confiscatory taxes.

Another argument is that the Commerce Clause gives them the right to mandate this. Let’s look at that:

“To regulate Commerce with Foreign Nations, and among the
several States, and with the Indian Tribes;”

That’s Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. It gives the Feds the ability to regulate Commerce WHEN it happens, not REQUIRE it. If that’s the case then what’s to stop them from mandating we buy domestic vehicles, preferably from the government-owned GM and Chrysler. Or to bank with Goldman Sachs, or Bank of America.

Just some thoughts for you to ponder.
