The Most Important Amendment/Analysis and Erosion of the Second Amendment

My Guns 006

This is the second essay of the “Breakdown” series. We’ll explore the individual rights in the Bill of Rights. And where they stand today. Comments appreciated, now lets begin.

“A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

The Second Amendment, America’s Original and most successful Homeland Security plan. What I call Plan B, break glass in case of emergency Amendment. The First Amendment is Plan A, diplomacy. Now on to the breakdown.

“A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State,”

This part seems to confuse people so much, they believe it pertains to the National Guard. They’re wasn’t even a standing army then, quite a few founders didn’t even like the idea of a standing army.  What the militia is….is you. Seriously, in the context of the Colonial days, their way to defend the towns and states was any man old enough to shoot was a militia man. No armories usually, they had the guns at home and could use them. When I say Militia I’m not talking about some group in the woods training. I’m being contextual. You are the militia according to the Second. Think about it, if your town was invaded by another country, do you fight or roll over? That is why they put militia in the Second.

“the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

The best way to explain this was said by Ted Nugent. “Keep” means it’s mine, you can’t have it, “bear” means its right here on my hip. “Infringed” means nobody touches it.    The bad news, it’s been infringed. To carry in 45 states, you must have a permit. The government says whether or not you can or not. In Alaska, Arizona and Vermont, you got it, wear it. Illinois and Wisconsin doesn’t give you that option. You have incremental chips in the Second’s armor: hi-cap magazine bans, bans on cosmetic differences, if it looks like a M-16 it’s evil, even if it’s only one shot per trigger pull. Bans on fully automatic weapons, unless you have a government license. Background checks, though I see the logic behind this.
One of the greatest enemies to the Second is IGNORANCE. Some people just know what they see on tv. I grew up around guns and anyone wanting to handle a gun better use RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY.
1: Treat every gun as if it’s loaded
2: Finger off the trigger until your going to shoot
3: DO NOT POINT a gun at anything your not willing to KILL
4: Make sure of what is beyond your target
Before anyone fires my guns they have to quote those rules to me and show competence with the  unloaded weapon.
The good news is advocacy groups are educating people on these tools for defense, recreation, and hunting. After all it’s a lifeless hunk of metal and polymer. It’s the INTENT of the wielder of the gun that directs it. This logic applies to cars, knives and pens. If someone wanted to stab you in the neck with a pen, it would be the mind controlling the hand that killed you. The pen was just the means to do it with. The problem is malicious punks, not what they use.
The other enemy of the Second is those who know that it is Plan B to prevent violent takeover. That’s why we have the slow erosion of freedoms instead of waking up and being hauled of in cattle cars. Adolph Hitler even realized this.  Adolph Hitler said, before sending millions of Jews to the oven after disarming the populace. And I quote, “The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.”

Remember that just societies have a  check and balance system. Government makes laws which are enforced by cops. Laws are just words on paper, you don’t have to follow them, which is why we have cops. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the laws that keep the Federal Government in check BUT it’s just words on paper unless enforced by someone. Guess who that is? WE THE PEOPLE, and we are failing miserable due to apathy and complacency. A little monetary or physical security in exchange for freedom and liberty. Not for this wolf, I’m not one of the flock, I’m above it and have taken it upon myself to snap you from your slumber, remove your blindfolds and show you how IT IS!

Another essay to follow on the Third Amendment.
