Ban Halloween!

Posted in Activism, Commentary, Current Events, Life, Politics with tags , , , , , , on October 31, 2011 by Ronin

I know a few people want to ban Halloween because it’s the Devil’s day and when evil comes out to play. But that’s not the issue! Halloween teaches kids to be hoodlums! Don’t let them go trick or treating or your part of the problem!
Think about it, your training future criminals. Extortionists. Little gang bangers.

Future Criminal

How?

Your kid goes up to people’s doors and threatens them. “Trick or treat?”
That’s a threat. They’re saying give me candy or I’ll mess up your stuff. What does the mafia do? They walk into business and demand “protection money” or “something bad might happen to the place.”

Halloween is creating a MIDGET MAFIA!!! It has to stop, ban Halloween! Its turning kids into delinquents!

*Author’s Note*
This was a tongue-in-cheek rant highlighting the absurdity of banning holidays. Don’t like them, don’t celebrate them. Besides, everyone know Halloween is about the Great Pumpkin. Have you been good?

Section 6 of the Constitution; Elections, Rules & Punishment

Posted in Commentary, Current Events, Government, History, Politics with tags , , , , , , , on October 28, 2011 by Ronin

Now we’re on Section 5 of Article 1. A tame section laying out more  of the framework.

Section 5. Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business; but a smaller Number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may provide.

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behavior, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.

Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; and the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question shall, at the Desire of one fifth of those Present, be entered on the Journal.
Neither House, during the Session of Congress, shall, without the Consent of the other, adjourn for more than three days, nor to any other Place than that in which the two Houses shall be sitting.

It begins with the Legislative Branch being watchdog on elections of its members, and when a majority gathers they can get down to business. Also says you don’t have to show up all the time but the House or Senate can punish for absenteeism.

This next one is interesting. Not the part where they have a rulebook of how to do things in the chambers but this part…

….punish its Members for disorderly Behavior, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.

Examples of this occurred recently. During a State of a Union Speech…

Representative Joe Wilson called Obama a liar 15 seconds into the video. A few days later the House voted to formally admonish the Representative. Read here. Also, we can’t forget Charlie Rangel, who was censured by the House for ethics violations, which is the next level up. He should have gotten the next level up, expulsion for being a tax cheat. Read articles here and here. Seeing the Constitution actually in action kinda kicks the boring factor of just reading the words.

The next part deals with the keeping of records and both Houses have to clear with the other for long-term adjournments and moving to different locations.

Next week is Section 6 where we deal with pay, immunity and promotions.

A Little Feedback Please & Two Book Releases

Posted in Authors, Books, Commentary, Current Events, News, Philosophy, Poetry, Suggested Reading with tags , , , , , , on October 27, 2011 by Ronin

Well our book Howls From The Wolfpack has been out for a couple of months now and I’m looking for feedback. On Amazon we’ve had 11 Likes and 4 reviews. Which is great but I want to hear from people I don’t know.

Like it?
Love it?
Hate it?
What’s the best parts?
Disagree? With what?
Agree? With what?
Has it helped?
Told your friends and family about it?
What could be done differently?

I have a curious nature and want your thoughts, whether I know you or not.

In other news, I’m about to begin work on releasing the book on Kindle before Christmas. Also one of the poetry editors for Howls has a solo creation that was released yesterday, a book of all new poems, “The Book of Goat”. Da Nekidgoat looked at his past writings and compiled them to offer to you. Coming to Amazon soon and available at his store now.

The National Debt and Who Is To Blame

Posted in Commentary, Current Events, Government, Life, Politics with tags , , , , , , on October 25, 2011 by Ronin

Debt…explained. The problem? Democrats. Republicans. And the idiots who voted for them.

The best way I’ve seen it explained. Now I know the tax the rich crowd will say raise taxes! And when they do that, they show they support theft. You don’t voluntarily pay taxes, they take them or if it’s on a state and local level you go to jail if you don’t pay and stuff that you have bought and paid for are also taken from you by men and women with guns.
